There are several events being held in Hampton Roads to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

Learn about the culture, music, and food of Puerto Rico, Peru, Mejico, y Costa Rica.  Enjoy authentic cuisine from De Rican Chef Restaurant while you learn Latin dance moves from Mambo Room instructors.

TCC Virginia Beach (students only)

Game Night in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month

GAME NIGHT IN CELEBRATION OF HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

Description: Learn to play Tomo Todo, a game of six-sided tops, and
Mexican scrabble! A prize will be given to the participant with the
highest scores! This event is open to TCC students only.

Education Seminar: Culturally Responsive Teaching, Character Education and Hispanic Students

Saturday, 10/12/19, Library Auditorium, Time TBD
Join educators, scholars, administrators, parents and students for a half-
day of presentations and conversations on issues affecting education and the increasing Latino student population in Virginia. This seminar is part of the “Professional Learning Plan” series of Vrigina Beach Public Schools.
This event is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the general
public.

Concert – “Our Roots”

Saturday, 10/19/19, Chapel Auditorium, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
End Hispanic Heritage Month with a cultural celebration of music
featuring Mr. Jorge Aguirre, the Hampton Roads Chamber Players and
members of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Take a musical journey
through Spain; the Caribbean; Central, North and South America; and
discover traditional classical music. This event is free and open to
students, faculty, staff and the general public.

The Norfolk Public Library in partnership with the Hispanic Leadership Forum of Hampton Roads, Inc. wishes to celebrate the accomplishments of local citizens that have promoted the culture, history, and life of Hispanics in Hampton Roads.   This year’s theme is  Military Heroes and Hispanic Veterans.
